The reading platform KT Millie's library announced on the 30th that it has launched the web novel service 'Millie Story' officially.
Millie's library expands the range of service content to allow users to freely enjoy genre-based content such as web novels and webtoons, beyond general books. The platform aims to implement an integrated reading environment that encompasses various content types from e-books to audiobooks and web novels. Starting in September, it plans to gradually release webtoon content.
The newly launched web novel service can be accessed through the dedicated 'web novel' tab at the bottom of the Millie's library app. It plans to deliver a highly immersive reading experience optimized for user preferences and usage patterns through finely categorized categories reflecting genre characteristics, user-tailored curation, and integration with audio content.
The web novel lineup includes original content exclusively provided by Millie's library and many hits that have secured a solid fan base in major genres such as romance, fantasy, and KITA. Notable examples include the web novels 'Gungno,' 'Temppal,' and the audiobook 'Omniscient Reader's Perspective.'
Building on its existing experience in e-book and audiobook distribution, Millie's library is also accelerating investment for expanding story intellectual property (IP). It plans to establish a virtuous cycle structure that goes beyond single content distribution to the production of secondary content through IP planning and production investment. In the future, it will promote the webtoon adaptation of the original romance work 'Gungno' and hold a listening session celebrating the release of the audiobook 'Omniscient Reader's Perspective' in July.
Millie's library is acquiring the content platforms Blaise and K-Tune from the KT Group to strengthen its story content capabilities. Millie's library aims to enhance its content acquisition and technological capabilities based on group synergy, further solidifying its leadership in the reading market.
Lee Myung-woo, Deputy Minister of the KT Millie's library story business division, noted, "The way content is consumed is rapidly shifting from ownership to experience-centered. In the future, we will further strengthen platform competitiveness through subscription-based content experiences that break down the boundaries of reading."
