Professor Kwon Il-yong, known as Korea's first profiler, supports the phishing and smishing damage prevention activities promoted by LG Uplus. LG Uplus announced on the 27th that it has selected Professor Kwon as its 'security ambassador.'

Professor Kwon is a criminal psychology expert who has worked as a violent crimes investigator and a crime scene investigator (CSI). He is actively engaged in broadcasting activities, including appearing in content that introduces cases of voice phishing and smishing.

First, LG Uplus plans to support content production that introduces the voice phishing detection feature of its artificial intelligence (AI) call agent service, 'ixi-O,' led by Professor Kwon.

'ixi-O' provides real-time voice phishing detection by using AI that understands context, offering immediate risk alerts when calls suspected of being voice phishing are detected.

Additionally, Professor Kwon plans to review the content of prevention brochures aimed at providing information to customers and assist in the training of dedicated staff who will handle consultations for affected customers.

Moreover, Professor Kwon will serve as a promotional model to introduce LG Uplus's efforts to prevent voice phishing and smishing damage, and will continue to collaborate by providing advice on upcoming security-related services.

Professor Kwon said, 'I will actively support the phishing and smishing damage prevention activities promoted by LG Uplus so that everyone can lead a safe communication life.'
