RM (real name Kim Nam-joon, 31), of BTS, was alleged to have been seen using Samsung Electronics' upcoming 'Galaxy Z Flip 7', which is set to be released in July. However, Samsung Electronics denied this, stating that the device RM is using is the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
According to industry reports on the 23rd, the claim that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 was revealed arose during the 'Art Basel in Basel 2025' event, the world's largest art fair, held in Basel, Switzerland, on the 18th (local time). Samsung Electronics participated as an official partner and invited RM to the media event. RM was seen using a foldable phone, presumed to be the Galaxy Z Flip 7, to take pictures and videos at the exhibition, which appeared to have a 'full-screen' design, with the entire front display being occupied except for the camera lens area.
According to leaked renderings, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to feature an external display redesigned to 'full screen', differing from its predecessor. However, Samsung Electronics explained, 'The phone RM is holding is the Galaxy Z Flip 6' and noted, 'The front screen appears to be 'full screen' due to light reflection.'
RM has consistently used the Galaxy Z Flip series since using the 'Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition' released in 2020, and recently, after completing his military service, he posted a selfie taken with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 on his personal social media.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7, set to be unveiled at the New York Unpacked event in July, is expected to feature an external full screen and a reduced thickness (6.5 mm, down from 6.9 mm in the previous model), with possibilities of incorporating the Exynos 2500 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets.
