Raonsecure announced on the 23rd that it has won the contract for the 'mobile disability registration card construction' project commissioned by the Korea Minting, Security Printing &ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO).
The mobile disability registration card construction project aims to improve the accessibility of welfare services and the rights of people with disabilities. Raonsecure plans to establish an issuance system based on blockchain-based digital ID technology.
The existing plastic disability registration card had the inconvenience of needing to be carried at all times when using welfare services. Cases of fraudulent use due to loss or forgery occurred consistently.
In this construction project, Raonsecure will supply its blockchain-based digital ID platform 'OmniOne Enterprise' and an integrated mobile security solution. This platform has already been applied to mobile resident registration cards and mobile driver's licenses.
Once the mobile disability registration card applying Raonsecure's technology is introduced, people with disabilities will be able to conveniently prove their identity and qualifications remotely anytime and anywhere. This is expected to significantly enhance the convenience of using welfare services while also allowing for the utilization of various digital welfare infrastructures such as online qualification verification and discount services. At the same time, it is anticipated to effectively prevent fraudulent use by technically blocking forgery and impersonation.
Lee Soon-hyung, CEO of Raonsecure, said, "This mobile disability registration card construction project will serve as a model example of how blockchain-based digital ID technology can directly contribute to improving the quality of life for socially vulnerable individuals."
