NEOWIZ announced on the 20th that its PC and console action RPG "Lies of P" has surpassed a global cumulative sales figure of 3 million copies.
This figure combines the sales of the main game "Lies of P" and the DLC "Lies of P: Prelude," accounting for all sales of digital and console packages from platforms such as Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. In particular, "Lies of P" has recorded 3 million sales, even though it was provided as a subscription service starting from the release date through Xbox Game Pass, making it an even more significant achievement.
Released globally on Sept. 2023, "Lies of P" attracted attention worldwide with its unique narrative and combat system, which adapts the classic Italian tale of Pinocchio into a dark fairy tale. Within a month of its launch, it recorded cumulative sales of 1 million copies and surpassed 7 million total users within 5 months. Sales in North America, Europe, and Japan accounted for more than 90% of the total, proving its competitiveness in the global market.
The DLC "Lies of P: Prelude" was unexpectedly released on June 7 through the "Summer Game Fest 2025." As a prequel to the main game, it unfolds a story centered around the legendary stalker "Leah" in the past era of "Kratcy." Users have shown enthusiastic responses to the intense narrative, entirely new weapon combinations, and the Legionarm system, along with a variety of powerful bosses.
"Lies of P: Prelude" quickly grabbed the top spot in the Steam "Most Popular Games" ranking in the domestic institutional sector and ranked first in the global paid sector right after its launch. It received a Metacritic score of 84 and an OpenCritic score of 84, garnering critical acclaim. Notably, OpenCritic awarded it the highest recommendation rating, "Mighty."
The internal rewards for the development team that achieved this success are also noteworthy. NEOWIZ plans to advance the payment of a launch incentive of 10 million won per person to all developers who led the global success of "Lies of P" and provide a two-week reward vacation. Additionally, all members of ROUND8 Studio will receive the latest console game device, the "Nintendo Switch 2," as a gift. This reward reflects the company's commitment to creating a healthy development culture that acknowledges the hard work of its developers and compensates them justly for their achievements.
Kim Seung-cheol, co-CEO of NEOWIZ, said, "The intellectual property rights (IP) of 'Lies of P' are once again garnering attention in the market and solidifying a foundation for long-term success. I would like to thank all the global fans and the employees who dedicated themselves to game development, and we will do our best in developing the next title."
