LG Electronics announced on the 17th that it will launch a new electronic whiteboard equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features next month.
The product being launched this time will be newly equipped with AI summarization, real-time translation, and touch functionalities. The AI summarization feature provides summaries of video materials used in classes to assist learners' understanding. The AI real-time translation feature translates class content into subtitles in real-time, enabling learners who do not know a foreign language to understand classes conducted in that language. The Calculator Pro rapidly calculates equations written in handwritten form using the touch functionality.
In addition, LG's electronic whiteboard offers various AI features to assist learning, including an AI chatbot (Ask LG) that answers questions based on a large language model (LLM) and an AI mind map that analyzes images or text to present topics in the form of mind maps, as well as Circle to Search, which provides information related to text or images within a circle drawn on the screen.
LG's electronic whiteboard is also equipped with education-specific solutions along with AI functionalities. The wireless screen sharing solution 'LG CreateBoard Share' allows wireless connection with external devices running various operating systems such as Windows, Android, and iOS. Up to nine screens can be viewed simultaneously to share students' results during class. The handwriting solution LG CreateBoard Lab enhances customer convenience with a streamlined UI design.
Teachers can conduct classes while moving around the classroom by linking their tablet PCs with the electronic whiteboard. If additional materials are needed during class, images and videos found through web browsing can be added to the notes by touch. After the class is over, materials can be shared with the students with just one click of an icon.
LG's electronic whiteboard has received Google EDLA certification for compatibility with devices running on the Android operating system, enabling customers to utilize various applications from the Google Play Store. Additionally, using LG Connected Care, a display remote management solution, allows simultaneous real-time monitoring of multiple devices to detect and respond to security threats or anomalies.
LG Electronics plans to enhance its electronic whiteboard lineup by releasing products that focus on essential functions such as handwriting using touch displays, which increases price competitiveness, as well as products optimized for video classes with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 105-inch large screen.
LG Electronics will introduce its entire electronic whiteboard lineup, including new products, at 'ISTE2025,' the world's largest education technology expo, held in San Antonio, Texas, from the 29th for four days.
Baek Ki-moon, executive president of LG Electronics' ID Business Division, noted, 'We will propose solutions to help create an efficient educational environment by emphasizing the AI features of LG's electronic whiteboard and strengthen our leadership in the edtech market.'
