The Korea National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Ministry of Science and ICT held a briefing on the '2025 Big Data Platform-Based Analytical Service Support' project on the 17th at the NIA Daegu headquarters. It is a support project that provides data analysis and utilization consulting for small and medium enterprises that experience difficulties in securing and utilizing data.
A total of 40 small and medium enterprises and small business owners applied for support for this project by forming a consortium with analytical firms. The analytical firms provide customized data analysis services to solve each demand company’s current issues. Specifically, tasks were selected that can contribute not only to technological development using AI and data but also to solving national social issues, including ▲ development of a right turn risk algorithm for intersection safety sensors based on distributed server execution (edge computing) ▲ fire risk prediction using data from livestock facility fire safety inspections ▲ development of AI-based concrete crack detection technology using video data.
NIA head Hwang Jong-seong said, "I hope this project will allow participating corporations to make another leap forward and contribute to solving social issues," adding, "NIA will not spare various policy and business supports so that the use of AI and data can spread across the entire industry."
