KT announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement with the cybersecurity specialist company AI Spera to expand the market for next-generation security solutions based on Attack Surface Management (ASM).

ASM is a next-generation security technology that detects the digital assets of corporations exposed to external threats in real-time and removes potential threats in advance. It works by preemptively identifying and eliminating vulnerable points in the IT assets of corporations exposed to the outside from an attacker's perspective, and has recently gained attention as an effective security solution due to the increased complexity of IT infrastructure.

With this agreement, KT will seek to expand its influence in the next-generation security solutions market alongside AI Spera. By integrating KT's AI, cloud, and other AICT (AI and ICT) capabilities with AI Spera's ASM solution, KT aims to enhance technological stability and customer-tailored features, and support the business to ensure the solution takes root in the market.

KT currently operates AI-based dedicated security services for corporations, such as 'Clean Zone', 'Secure UTM', and 'AI Mail Security', and has a nationwide business-to-business (B2B) sales network and competitiveness in the public sector. Based on this, the goal is to discover new clients in the public sector together with AI Spera and to provide the ASM solution in a Proof of Concept (PoC) form to secure feedback from actual users. AI Spera is providing a solution that integrates ASM and Threat Intelligence (TI) through 'Criminal IP', the first subscription-based security service model (SECaaS) in Korea.

Kang Byeong-tak, CEO of AI Spera, said, "With the collaboration with KT, we will expand the customer base for the ASM solution and if we utilize KT's IT infrastructure, we can provide stable services. We will also aim to maximize the synergy between the two companies to seek entry into the global market."

Yoo Seobong, head of KT's Enterprise Division AX Business Headquarters (executive director), noted, "This collaboration will be an important milestone that can broaden the base of the domestic security technology market," adding, "If KT's B2B sales network and cloud infrastructure meet AI Spera's security technology, we expect it will further enhance the competitiveness of the domestic security industry."
