LG Electronics announced on the 16th that it has sought to attract top talent in artificial intelligence (AI) by attending the world's largest AI conference.

From the 11th to the 15th (local time), LG Electronics held an AI talent recruitment event at the site of the 'International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2025' in Nashville, Tennessee. CVPR is the world’s premier conference focused on the field of computer vision, known as the eyes of AI.

Jae-cheol Kim, senior vice president and head of the Vision Intelligence Lab at the CTO division's AI research institute, led the networking at the conference. He held individual meetings with authors of papers relevant to the business field and hosted an 'LGE AI Night' event to introduce LG Electronics' AI technologies and achievements. The event showcased LG Electronics' technological capabilities and development roadmap in the field of vision AI, centering on ongoing research and development items and papers presented at international conferences.

Since 2022, LG Electronics has participated in CVPR annually, hosting networking events to continuously secure top talent in the AI field. Additionally, at the end of this month, they plan to hold a North America Tech Conference in New Jersey to recruit overseas talent.

Such recruitment events, primarily inviting master's and doctoral students and researchers majoring in AI from domestic universities, as well as Korean students studying AI at prestigious overseas universities, are meaningful in encouraging the return of skilled professionals in the science and engineering fields to the country, thereby enhancing national competitiveness in the AI industry.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics is also taking steps to secure talent in future technology fields such as AI, big data, and software by operating recruitment contract departments and target labs in collaboration with major universities across the country. Currently, five universities, including Korea University, Sogang University, Yonsei University, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), and Hanyang University, are recruiting new students for their recruitment contract departments.

An official from LG Electronics said, "We will spare no effort to secure and nurture top talents in AI, which is crucial for preparing for the future and enhancing business competitiveness."
