Samsung Electronics announced on the 16th that it will showcase works from the 2025 Art Basel in Basel collection in its art subscription service 'Samsung Art Store.'
This collection consists of 38 carefully selected contemporary art pieces from the works presented at the 2025 Art Basel in Basel, which will be held in Switzerland at Messe Basel from the 19th to the 22nd (local time), taking into account the diversity of artists and geographical representation.
This is the largest collection that Samsung Electronics has presented among previous Art Basel collections, emphasizing cultural inclusivity and diversity, including works based on African culture.
The collection includes masterpieces such as 'Illusion Code from Zero' by Gi Bong Lee, 'Untitled' by Jo Baer, and 'Temptation' by Lynne Hershman Leeson. Additionally, works like 'Woman and Peony' by Romeo Mivecanni and 'The Messenger of the Universe Led Us to a Cave Settlement Governed by Mutual Compassion and Humility' by Bassem Magdy will be showcased.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics will operate an interactive lounge 'Art Cube' at this Art Basel in Basel, following its presence at Art Basel Hong Kong in March.
Art Cube is an immersive showcase implemented through Samsung Electronics' TVs, such as The Frame, Micro LED, and Neo QLED 8K, providing a digital art experience themed around the Art Basel collection.
Marco Cruz, Art Basel director, noted, 'By showcasing the 2025 Basel collection at Samsung Art Store, we have been able to communicate with global audiences in new ways.'
Kim Yong-soo, vice president of Samsung Electronics' visual display division, said, 'We will continue to present the world's best contemporary art on Samsung Art TV through our partnership with Art Basel, so that customers can experience world-class art in their homes.'
