LG AI Research Institute stated that the short documentary "Being the Machine" received a silver award in the "science & institutional sector" category and a bronze award in the "generative artificial intelligence (AI)" category at the 46th Telly Awards on the 15th.
The Telly Awards, established in 1979, selects winners based on creativity, message delivery, and directorial quality.
The awarded documentary "Being the Machine" was produced as part of a collaborative research project between LG and Parsons titled "The Era of Creative Consolidation: Human Relationships in the Age of AI." The overall production was led by Professor Lim Jeong-gi from Parsons School of Design, and the AI agent service "ChatEXAONE" developed by LG AI Research Institute was utilized.
This documentary features a Parsons student posing questions to AI, with the AI's answers conveyed through another student's words. It addresses the discussion of how emotional empathy and consolidation occur when the AI's responses are expressed in human language.
