KT announced on the 13th that it has signed a business agreement with the legal tech corporations Elbox to strengthen competitiveness in the public sector's artificial intelligence transformation (AX).

The two sides plan to collaboratively explore and participate in AX business opportunities for public institutions, develop and implement AI solutions specialized for legal services, and conduct joint research and development based on public legal data. This aims to accelerate the digital transformation of public institutions and lead the growth of the domestic legal tech market.

KT will support the ‘Korean AI model’ considering the working environments and regulations of each public institution, and will provide cloud-based AX solutions tailored for the public sector, as well as capabilities in AICT (AI + information and communication technology) and system design. It plans to advance technical collaboration based on actual AX business experience in building smart mobile work environments.

Elbox is set to target the public AX market in collaboration with KT through its legal AI solutions, such as the AI legal information platform ‘Elbox AI,’ which is based on the largest amount of judgment data among domestic legal tech corporations.

Yoo Yong-kyu, senior vice president of KT's public projects division, noted, 'KT has determined that the key keyword for the digital transformation of the public sector is “law.”' He added, 'Through strategic collaboration with Elbox, we will strive to provide AI services specialized for legal practices so that public institutions can genuinely feel improvements in operational efficiency.'
