Openedges Technology, a semiconductor design asset (IP) platform company, announced on the 11th that it will collaborate with Renesas Electronics, a global automotive and industrial semiconductor solutions corporation based in Japan.
Under the collaboration, Renesas is set to utilize Openedges' memory subsystem IP in the development of next-generation microprocessor (MPU) platforms.
The memory subsystem IP is a key design element for processing data transfer between processors such as the central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), and neural processing unit (NPU) within system-on-chip (SoC) chips at high speed and low power.
Lee Sung-hyun, CEO of Openedges, noted, “This collaboration is an important milestone showing our achievements with global top-tier clients” and added, “Through this cooperation, growth will accelerate further in the global market, including Japan.”
