On the 10th (local time), a service disruption occurred on the generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT.
According to industry sources on the 11th, issues with ChatGPT's functionality began around 2 a.m. (Eastern Time) on the 10th. This disruption lasted over 7 hours, with the number of affected users gradually increasing, leading to nearly 2,000 error reports.
Due to this disruption, many users repeatedly experienced situations where they could not receive responses to their queries and only saw the error message "Too many concurrent requests."
OpenAI, which operates ChatGPT, noted, "We are currently taking measures to resolve the issue and will continuously update relevant information as the situation improves."
Meanwhile, ChatGPT experienced similar service disruptions in November and December of last year. In particular, it is believed that the surge in users in December of last year, when Apple introduced an operating system featuring ChatGPT to its devices like the iPhone, contributed to the disruption.
