Samsung Electronics announced on the 11th that it will conduct a software update for the 'Voice ID' of the Bespoke AI refrigerator featuring a touchscreen, scheduled for this month.

The new feature, Voice ID, recognizes and distinguishes the voices of family members registered in the refrigerator based on the AI voice assistant Bixby, providing personalized functions for each user.

When a user says, “Bixby, tell me my schedule,” “Show me my photos,” or “Find my phone” in front of the refrigerator, it recognizes the voice and offers responses tailored to the requesting user.

Accessibility settings such as color inversion and black and white set on the user's Galaxy smartphone will also automatically apply to the refrigerator's 'AI Home' screen.

The method to activate Bixby on the refrigerator has also been enhanced. In addition to the existing call method of “Hi Bixby,” Bixby can be summoned by tapping the screen twice when the refrigerator's screen is off.

Samsung Electronics plans to expand refrigerators applying Voice ID, starting with updates for the 2025 model 'Bespoke AI Family Hub' and the 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator equipped with a 9-inch screen.

Moon Jong-seung, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions Division, noted, “We developed the Voice ID feature to provide a personalized 'AI Home' experience even for refrigerators used by families.” He added, “We will continue to provide software updates for home appliances so that users can enjoy the latest features.”
