The Ministry of Science and ICT recently announced support for the early commercialization of neural processing units (NPU) that domestic fabless semiconductor companies are actively launching.
To this end, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to hold an integrated briefing session on artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor projects from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the 11th at the Korea Science and Technology Center's Conference Room 8.
Considering the importance of the AI semiconductor sector, the Ministry of Science and ICT will invest a total of 243.4 billion won this year, including 49.4 billion won in this supplementary budget.
The supplementary project in the AI semiconductor sector consists of ▲ enhancing AI computing infrastructure (12 billion won) ▲ supporting AX verification (4 billion won) ▲ timely support for AI semiconductor commercialization (22 billion won) ▲ supporting overseas verification of AI semiconductors (5.4 billion won) ▲ developing and verifying domestic AI semiconductor-based devices (AI transformation) (6 billion won).
Among these, the AI computing infrastructure enhancement project, AX verification support project, and timely support for AI semiconductor commercialization (product production support) are currently recruiting new project executors from the 29th of last month to the 30th.
In conjunction with the integrated briefing session, the Ministry of Science and ICT will also hold a meeting for fabless corporations in the AI semiconductor sector. Corporations seeking to launch server and edge-oriented NPUs and actively enter the market will attend.
