The next-generation UiPath platform provides a powerful foundation for agentic automation that can enhance the productivity and operational scale of corporations by combining artificial intelligence (AI) agents, robots, and people. Corporations across various industries can implement agentic automation to elevate productivity, innovation, and growth.
Feiran Hao, vice president of product strategy at UiPath, noted during a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on the 10th, that UiPath unveiled the “UiPath platform for agentic automation” at the event. UiPath, a leading automation software company, has helped corporations enhance their operational efficiency by allowing robotic software to perform tasks that people previously had to do manually through robotic process automation (RPA) software.
However, as AI agents have recently advanced, UiPath launched a platform that integrates AI agents, robots, and people. According to market research firm IDC, the Korean AI market is projected to grow to $7.1 billion (approximately 9.6 trillion won) by 2028, with an annual growth rate of 26%. Already, 24% of Korean corporations are using AI agents, and more than 67% plan to adopt them within the year. As a result, more than half of corporations expressed a willingness to invest up to a 25% premium in agentic AI solutions.
Hao stated, “Market researchers report that the agentic AI market is expected to triple within a year,” adding that “corporations' expenditures related to agentic AI will increase tenfold by 2028, reaching $4 billion.” He further noted, “While corporations understand the importance of agentic automation, they often do not know how to approach it due to the lack of in-house technology, system complexities, and expenses,” and concluded, “Our goal is to help corporations integrate the fragmented technologies through agentic automation and orchestration.”
UiPath explained that the core of the newly introduced platform is called “Maestro,” which plays a role in securely coordinating complex business collaboration between AI agents and robots based on key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring and process intelligence. Additionally, the UiPath platform ensures security and predictability to protect corporate environments by allowing AI agents to operate within clearly defined guardrails. It also provides low-code tools and advanced coding environments so that both members and developers can utilize the agents.
The multi-agent framework within the platform has also been strengthened. UiPath supports a multi-agent system integrated with third-party agent frameworks such as LangChain, Anthropic, and Microsoft. In collaboration with Google Cloud, an agent-to-agent (A2A) open protocol has been developed, allowing AI agents to communicate and exchange information with one another. This enables various AIs within corporations to collaborate and autonomously perform tasks.
UiPath expressed its ambition to strengthen the area of AI agents by leveraging its technology and know-how in the field of robotic process automation (RPA) solutions, where it has previously excelled. Hao remarked, “UiPath is no longer just an RPA company,” and noted, “Repetitive tasks can be automated using rule-based robots, while purpose-driven tasks can be automated more precisely with AI agents.” He added, “While we are moving into Act 2, that does not mean Act 1 is obsolete; both Act 1 and Act 2 must work together for true agentic automation to function properly.”
He stated, “Many technologies currently available in the market can validate concepts (PoC), but practical application is often difficult,” and explained, “Through our platform, we can now automate activities and workflows, as well as processes.” He further emphasized, “In addition, through various support, in the future, agents will be able to think, robots will execute tasks, and people will lead the work, with elements from Act 1 at its core.”
Jo Ui-woong, head of UiPath Korea, emphasized, “We will focus our business strategy on AI agent automation,” and added, “We will close the Act 1 era led by RPA and lead the Act 2 era driven by agentic automation.” He further noted, “We will support corporations in implementing agentic automation to elevate productivity and innovation growth to the next level.”
