Naver Labs will change its basic work structure to 'office attendance' instead of remote work starting in July.

According to Naver (NAVER) on the 9th, Seok Sang-ok, CEO of Naver Labs, held a town hall meeting on the 4th and revised the work policy to apply the 'office type' as the basic work structure from July 1.

Until now, Naver Labs followed the same 'Connected Work' system as Naver. Employees could choose between two work types: 'Type R' (Remote-based Work), which is based on remote work five days a week, and 'Type O' (Office-based Work), which involves attending the office three days or more a week.

With the implementation of the changed work policy, all employees are expected to attend the office unless there are special reasons. According to Naver, remote work can be applied for when necessary.

Industry sources say that this measure taken by Naver Labs reflects the nature of work that utilizes hardware, such as robotics and autonomous driving technology. The revised work policy will only apply to Naver Labs among Naver's affiliates.
