According to the business community, the chairman was reported to have visited the Samsung Biologics business sites in Songdo, Incheon, on that day, where he examined the construction of the 5th factory and reviewed the business strategy.
It was reported that on that day, Lee was accompanied by Jeong Hyun-ho, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, and John Lim, CEO of Samsung Biologics.
The 5th factory, which the chairman toured that day, is an 180,000-liter production facility that consolidates the best practices of factories 1 to 4 and has been in operation since April.
This visit by the chairman to the business sites is interpreted as an encouragement for the employees of Samsung Biologics, which recorded its highest-ever performance last year. Samsung Biologics surpassed 4 trillion won in consolidated sales last year. It is the first among domestic pharmaceutical and bio corporations to exceed annual sales of 4 trillion won.
