SK AX announced on the 4th that it has obtained the qualification of onboarding service provider from Cofinity-X, the operator of Catena-X, Europe's largest automotive supply chain ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data network.

An onboarding service provider is an official support organization that assists corporations wishing to participate in the Catena-X ecosystem with ESG data linkage and system access, and SK AX has been recognized as a core partner in the global ESG digital ecosystem through this qualification.

Catena-X is an ESG data consortium established by 10 global corporations, including SAP, Siemens, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, which standardizes key information, including carbon data, throughout the product life cycle to pursue digital transformation and sustainability.

SK AX will support all processes from the registration of corporations participating in this ecosystem to ensuring carbon data integrity, as well as proposing data security and management applications, and maintenance.

In particular, the carbon emission data management platform being developed by SK AX in collaboration with the domestic corporation Glassdome has been listed as an official business application of Catena-X and has emerged as a key technological asset. This platform is designed to automatically collect carbon emission data throughout the entire product life cycle and generate ESG disclosure and regulatory response reports in accordance with ISO 14067 standards, and it has obtained Catena-X standard certification for the first time in Korea.

Based on this qualification acquisition, SK AX plans to launch a supply chain traceability business targeting global manufacturers and partners. This is expected to establish a new AX (Artificial Intelligence Transformation) business model that simultaneously realizes operational efficiency improvements and sustainability by utilizing ESG data.

Kim Min-hyuk, head of SK AX Manufacturing/Global Business Division, noted, "This selection as the Catena-X OSP will serve as a representative case for SK AX to transform its ESG activities from a responsibility-centered approach to an AX industry that generates revenue through technology," adding, "With capabilities in AX, platforms, and international standard certifications, SK AX will not just be a simple participant but will actively play as a key player designing the order of the global ESG value chain and linking the market."
