LG Electronics announced on the 1st that it will launch its new residential air conditioning product, 'Whisen AI System Air Conditioner,' which enhances the artificial intelligence (AI) cooling function.

The new product is equipped with radar sensors to detect the environment and customer status, providing the 'AI Comfortable Sleep Wind' function that adjusts airflow strength and direction according to sleep stages. It analyzes indoor temperature and customer location to regulate airflow strength and automatically switches between indirect wind and soft wind based on changes in the user's sleep state.

According to tests conducted by the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), the soft wind mode showed a power-saving effect of up to 76% compared to the regular strong wind mode.

The AI energy-saving function adjusts cooling intensity by analyzing usage patterns and remote control settings history, supporting energy-saving operation based on predicted consumption when setting monthly electricity usage targets. Additionally, it can reduce unnecessary cooling by determining the customer's absence using radar sensors.

The product is maintained through a maximum of eight processes, including various clean filters, antimicrobial materials, heat exchanger cleaning, UV-LED sterilization, and AI drying. Notably, the heat exchanger cleaning function removes dust and bacteria using condensation water and then automatically dries.

LG Electronics has made it possible to install the system air conditioner without separate ceiling work or molding by applying a 'slim recessed kit' that is easy to install in construction apartments with limited ceiling space.

According to LG Electronics, domestic sales of residential system air conditioners have increased by more than 10% annually on average over the past four years.

Baeg Jong-hyun, head of the SAC Division at LG Electronics' ES Business Unit, said, 'The Whisen AI System Air Conditioner will provide solutions tailored to the customer's living environment through AI-based cooling and management functions.'
