KT announced on the 1st that it has signed a contract with the Korea Water Resources Corporation for the 'K-water digital platform construction' project and will embark on a full-scale digital transformation initiative.
A consortium led by KT, including INNOGRID, ST Logic, and KT DS, will design and construct an integrated platform based on AI and private cloud for this project. The project duration is two years, and the total budget is 19 billion won.
KT will be responsible for developing a data integration management hub platform, operating software as a service (SaaS) related to water information as a pilot, and building the overall digital infrastructure, converting K-water's water management data into digital assets.
K-water plans to promote the digitalization of public water management systems based on this platform and seeks to explore global water industry expansion through the commercialization of SaaS-based services in the future.
Yoo Yong-kyu, head of KT's public projects division, noted, 'This project will serve as an opportunity for a paradigm shift in global water management based on AI and cloud,' and added, 'KT will concentrate its AICT capabilities to accelerate public digital innovation.'
