LG Display will temporarily operate a 'short-term dispatch program' for production employees to maintain job stability.
According to industry sources on the 29th, LG Display has agreed to recruit volunteers for the temporary dispatch program starting from the 2nd of the month.
The scale of the dispatch will be flexible depending on the number of applicants, and the recruited employees will work at LG Innotek for about four months starting in July to respond to seasonal peak demands.
LG Display explained that this program was implemented to maintain employment stability while enhancing operational efficiency during the transition from large liquid crystal display (LCD) business to an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) focused business structure.
LG Display is also expected to accept applications for voluntary resignation from production employees. The voluntary resignation program is available to those with three or more years of service and includes a severance package of 45 months of fixed salary and support for children's education expenses.
To improve workforce efficiency, LG Display had previously accepted voluntary resignations from production employees in June last year, and in November of the same year, it conducted a voluntary resignation program for office employees for the first time in five years since 2019.
