KT announced on the 28th that it will provide a 'phishing and hacking insurance' that covers families for free for six months to customers visiting KT stores nationwide.

KT mobile customers (excluding minors) can visit KT stores nationwide by Aug. 31 to sign up for the service using the QR codes available. The coverage applies not only to themselves but also to their legal spouse and children aged 13 to under 30, within the coverage limit.

The insurance is provided in partnership with Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance. In cases of cyber financial fraud such as phishing, pharming, or smishing that results in the loss of deposits or unauthorized use of credit cards, customers can receive compensation of up to 3 million won. The coverage period is six months from the date of enrollment.

KT also noted that it offers services that can prevent financial incidents such as phishing and hacking, including 'text message fraud prevention service' and 'identity theft prevention service.'

Additionally, the 'Whowhoo' application provides various security features such as malicious app scanning and mobile security status checks.
