The AI (artificial intelligence) technology corporation iSciLab announced on the 28th that it has been selected as an official session presentation corporation for the 'AI for Good Global Summit 2025' organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from the 8th to the 11th of next month.
With this selection, iSciLab will present a case study on the 'AI-based animal biometrics solution' in the session titled 'Innovate for impact: The winning AI use cases.' According to the company, this is the first time a South Korean corporation has been selected as an official session presenter for this event.
The 'AI for Good Global Summit' is an international conference held to discuss issues related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and this year, various AI and robotics technologies and related organizations will participate.
iSciLab has developed a non-invasive biometrics technology utilizing facial features and nose patterns of animals, which is applied to the registration and tracking of pets and livestock. This presentation will focus on policy and health-related applications, including the registration of stray animals, tracking vaccination histories, and preventing illegal transactions.
The company explained that this technology is linked to SDG 3 (health), 9 (industry), 12 (consumption and production), 15 (terrestrial ecosystems), and 16 (institution building). iSciLab is currently developing a digital horse passport system in conjunction with the Korea Racing Authority and is applying related technology in the Ghana region in line with the World Health Organization initiative to eliminate rabies.
