The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, the Game Culture Foundation, and the Game Rating and Administration Committee attended the '2025 Game Bus' exhibition and bilateral agency exchange meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on the invitation of the Vietnamese government on the 26th.

The Game Bus is the largest annual game event in Vietnam organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and hosted by VN Express, FTP Online, and the Vietnam Game Federation. It is a game festival where participants can experience various gaming cultures, including forums alongside B2C and B2B engagements from global publishers and gaming companies, e-sports competitions, and cosplay events. Promising small and medium-sized Korean gaming companies such as Burchitdol, Genie Soft, and Readymade also participated in this event.

The Korean delegation, including Choi Jae-hwan, Director of Game Content Industry Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yoo Byeong-han, Chairman of the Game Culture Foundation, Choi Seung-jin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, Park Han-heum, Director of the Policy Research Institute at the Game Rating and Administration Committee, and Seong Im-gyeong, Director of the Korean Creative Content Agency's Vietnam Center, held a local Korea-Vietnam game industry exchange meeting with Le Quang Thao, Director General of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, as well as officials from VTC headquarters and VTC Online and the Vietnam Game Federation. They shared excellent policies and achievements for the development of the game industry and discussed future tasks for continued exchanges between the two countries' gaming sectors.

Choi Jae-hwan, Director of Game Content Industry Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, noted, "As the game industry rapidly grows in Vietnam, we expect mutual cooperation in various areas, including sharing government-level policy and institutional experiences and know-how for cooperation in game production at the private level, game rating classification issues, training game talents, and e-sports exchanges, as well as addressing social issues arising from the growth of Vietnam's game industry," and added, "I agree on the need to establish exchange channels for ongoing mutual visits and practical cooperation requested by the Vietnamese government."

Le Quang Thao, Director General of the Radio, Broadcasting and Electronic Information Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, stated, "We plan to establish game departments in more than five universities, and we hope to exchange educational programs with Korea for excellent talent training," adding, "To sustain exchanges, we wish to participate in events like G-Star and seminars, and Vietnam must first activate e-sports for game development and enhance its capacity to address social issues arising from game growth."

Yoo Byeong-han, Chairman of the Game Culture Foundation, remarked, "Behind the remarkable growth of the Korean game industry is a healthy gaming culture that enhances the utility and positive acceptance of games across various sectors of society," and emphasized the need for collaboration between the government and private game companies to establish institutions that educate and lead the gaming culture.

Following the exchange meeting, a 'Memorandum of Understanding for Mutual Cooperation in the Game Industry between the Two Countries' was signed by the Game Culture Foundation, the Game Rating and Administration Committee, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam. This memorandum is expected to be upgraded to a formal agreement after the conclusion of the Game Bus event. Additionally, with the support of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and the Korea Creative Content Agency's Vietnam Center, a promotional hall for Korean small and medium-sized game companies called the 'K-Game Pavilion' was established at the Vietnam Game Bus exhibition venue. The Korean delegation plans to meet representatives from participating Korean game companies at the promotional hall to discuss strategies for expanding the entry and partnerships of Korean small game companies into Vietnam using local networks.
