99% of the members of the Naver Labor Union are opposed to the return of former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Choi In-hyuk.

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Naver Branch's "joint statement" held a rally on the 27th at 1784 Naver Building 2 in Seongnam City and announced the results of a total vote. The voting, conducted among 5,701 union members, recorded a turnout of 79.06%, with 98.82% opposed to the return.

Lee Soo-woon, the secretary of the joint statement, noted that "nearly 4,500 union members opposed the return," adding, "This is not merely opposition to one person's return, but a strong message that Naver's organizational culture must not revert to a vertical and oppressive structure."

The union previously held picketing protests at the office for five days from the 19th to the 23rd and collected union members' opinions through an emergency meeting on the 22nd. A total vote was conducted from 5 p.m. on the 22nd to 7 p.m. on the 26th.

Former COO Choi resigned in 2021 after being held morally responsible for an incident that led to an employee's death due to workplace bullying. However, Naver recently sparked controversy by designating him as the first representative of the newly established "tech business" institutional sector, which is responsible for developing new overseas markets such as India and Spain, as well as healthcare business.
