Nvidia is reportedly developing an artificial intelligence (AI) chip called Blackwell for the Chinese market to circumvent U.S. export regulations. Blackwell is Nvidia's latest AI chip.
On the 24th (local time), Reuters reported that Nvidia plans to release a new AI chip set at a much lower price than the recently restricted H20 model in the Chinese market, with mass production expected to begin as early as June.
The H20 has been the only AI chip that Nvidia could legally sell in China. However, the Donald Trump administration recently restricted the export of the H20.
Reuters noted that “this chip belongs to Nvidia's latest chip family based on the Blackwell architecture and is expected to price between $6,500 and $8,000,” adding that “this is significantly lower than the $11,200 H20 model.”
