LG Uplus announced on the 25th that it will expand the 'Child Safety School Commute Service' nationwide in partnership with the early childhood education platform Kidsnote.
The Child Safety School Commute Service precisely tracks the location of school buses for kindergartens and daycare centers in real time and delivers this information to parents via the country's top mobile notification platform, the Kidsnote application (app). This technology utilizes LG Uplus's ultra-precise positioning (RTK) technology and wireless communication network.
Parents can check in real time where their children are during their commute and whether the school bus has arrived near the kindergarten using the Kidsnote app.
When the school bus departs, a push notification is sent to the parent's Kidsnote app, and they are immediately notified when it arrives at the kindergarten. Parents can also go out to meet their children in time for the bus arrival when picking up from the kindergarten.
On days with outdoor activities such as field trips or picnics, parents can also easily notify the kindergarten of their child’s bus boarding status with just one click.
This Child Safety School Commute Service has been tested as part of the digital town creation project ongoing in Donghae City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, since last year. It will be expanded nationwide through the partnership between LG Uplus and Kidsnote.
Lim Jang-hyuk, head of the Corporate Customer Group at LG Uplus, noted, "I am pleased that we can provide real peace of mind and convenience to families raising children through LTE and 5G communication technologies and the latest ultra-precise positioning capabilities."
