SK Telecom announced on the 22nd that it would participate in discussions for a joint response among the three telecommunications companies to counter the advanced persistent threat (APT) at a national level.

Ryu Jeong-hwan, head of the network infrastructure center at SK Telecom, noted during a briefing held at the Samhwa Tower in Seoul that "APT attacks are difficult to block and resolve," and said, "We will participate if there are joint discussions among the three telecommunications companies." He also mentioned that they are "cooperating with specialized hacker groups" for internal network diagnostics but did not disclose further details. He added that they are also considering ways to expand investment in information security.

Kim Hee-seop, head of the PR center, explained, "SK Group is raising its level of information security, and SK Telecom has announced the establishment of a global-level security system."

SK Telecom reported that it has maintained a daily SIM card replacement volume of over 300,000 since the 19th. As of 12 a.m., the cumulative SIM card replacement amount reached 3.23 million, with a remaining reservation of 5.67 million. It plans to receive 5 million SIM cards this month and next month, and another 5 million in July.

Lim Bong-ho, head of the MNO division, said, "We will complete notifications for 2.2 million subscribers who have not received the SIM card replacement notice by next week and will also conduct re-notifications after June." They have conducted 5,300 home visit SIM card replacement and rerouting services in 29 remote areas, and will continue to provide support in 13 locations including Hapcheon in Gyeongnam and Hwaseong in Jeonnam on the 22nd.

Meanwhile, for the agencies that have suffered losses due to the suspension of new subscriber and number change recruitment, a lending of 5 million won with no interest will be provided to each store for three months, and interest on installment bonds will also be additionally supported. Compensation plans due to the new business suspension period are also under consideration.
