Qualcomm announced on the 22nd that it has selected five domestic startups in the fields of healthcare, robotics, retail, audio, and mobility as recipients of the Qualcomm AI Innovation Program (QAIPI) this year.

It is a program that supports startups and developers in the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, to develop AI applications using the Qualcomm platform.

The selected domestic startups include MAUM.AI, a developer of on-device solutions that integrate voice, vision, and motion-based AI models; Motove, which installs lightweight edge AI devices in taxis to collect and analyze over 70 types of urban data; and BanyaAI, which develops solutions that enable non-developers to easily build AI agents.

The selected corporations will go through a mentoring phase and will present their technological achievements at a demonstration event scheduled for the end of this year.

Kwon Oh-hyung, Qualcomm's president for the Asia-Pacific region and senior vice president at headquarters, noted, "The 15 selected startups from South Korea, Japan, and Singapore show significant potential for each country to lead the future of AI-based industries."
