Microsoft Korea (Korea MS) announced on the 22nd that it will begin 'Windows 11 transition support' in line with the end of technical support for Windows 10. The company said, 'We are notifying the golden time for the Windows 11 transition while guiding customers on considerations for upgrading.'
Technical support for Windows 10 will end on Oct. 14. Without security updates, vulnerabilities may emerge that expose users to hacking attacks. Korea MS reported that it has entered a phase of system reestablishment in preparation for security risks and is encouraging the 'Windows 11 transition.' The company recommended that customers consider ▲ features of Windows 11 that respond to the latest security risks ▲ strengths of Copilot+ PCs with core security functions implemented in Windows 11 ▲ and the upgrade process for Windows 11.
The 'advanced security features' provided by default in Windows 11 integrate software and hardware functionalities. The company explained that basic protections include ▲ hardware-based protection through TPM 2.0 ▲ virtualization-based security (VBS) ▲ and a block list feature for vulnerable drivers, ensuring protection down to deep areas of the operating system. Compared to Windows 10, Windows 11 sees a 62% decrease in security incident rates, with firmware attacks dropping by three times.
Copilot+ PC is Microsoft's artificial intelligence (AI) PC brand. It features a design where software and hardware are organically combined. This includes the integrated security-focused device, Microsoft Pluton security processor. It also provides ▲ memory integrity protection ▲ security core PC features ▲ and security for Windows Hello login.
Son Hyun-gak, Southeast Asia, India, and Korea category lead for Windows & Microsoft 365 at Korea MS, noted, 'Windows 11 is a version designed with security as the top priority from the development stage,' adding that 'Copilot+ PC provides the most reliable digital experience as a device that maximizes the performance of the next-generation operating system.'
