On the 21st, Dassault Systèmes announced that it will build a dedicated mental health data warehouse across France in collaboration with the Fondamental Foundation.
This project aims to strengthen research on the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders by structuring and utilizing complex clinical data within a sovereignty-based security framework, in line with the French government's public health priorities for 2025. Dassault Systèmes will meet the requirements for medical data security through its OUTSCALE brand and support research on conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, treatment-resistant depression, and autism spectrum disorders.
The OUTSCALE Sovereign Cloud has received SecNumCloud 3.2 certification from the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) and provides infrastructure capable of protecting sensitive health data based on a high-performance, independent, and scalable cloud environment.
The Fondamental Foundation operates a network of 54 expert centers that develop personalized treatment programs based on patient assessments and anonymize clinical data from consenting patients for collection. So far, more than 20,000 patients have consulted, with 6,000 diagnosed, and over 2,000 clinical variables collected per patient.
Through the health data warehouse, improvements in patient monitoring based on collaboration among healthcare professionals, optimization of treatment pathways, and the application of advanced analytics models utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) are expected to become possible.
Marion Leboyer, executive director of the Fondamental Foundation, noted, "Integrating multimodal data in a safe and sovereign environment will serve as a foundation for understanding, diagnosing, and treating mental disorders," adding that "this will enhance efforts for precision psychiatry."
Philippe Milten, CEO of Dassault Systèmes' OUTSCALE, said, "We can establish a common foundation for mental health research through a secure and compliant data warehouse."
