Salesforce announced on the 21st that it will officially implement the intelligent productivity platform Slack at NH Investment & Securities.

Due to high data security requirements and regulatory environments in the existing financial industry, there have been limitations in introducing cloud solutions based on Software as a Service (SaaS). However, NH Investment & Securities, which received approval for its innovative financial services designation, has laid the foundation to officially introduce Slack into its internal work environment, making it the first in South Korea to do so. This is the first time that a financial institution in the country has received designation for innovative financial services to implement Slack.

According to Salesforce, NH Investment & Securities plans to use this Slack implementation to address challenges faced in the existing on-premises systems, such as limitations in mobile accessibility, inefficiencies in inter-department collaboration, and constraints on data sharing, while establishing a digital collaboration environment based on SaaS. In particular, the company noted that NH Investment & Securities could reduce initial infrastructure setup expenses and rapidly adopt and utilize the latest features without the burden of system maintenance.

Slack is a messaging service that offers real-time communication features such as messaging, voice conversations, and video conferencing, as well as environment management for file sharing, collaborative document creation, and project management.

NH Investment & Securities reported that it plans to improve the speed of internal communication by leveraging Slack’s features, establishing a rapid decision-making system based on real-time collaboration to enhance customer responsiveness and service quality. NH Investment & Securities intends to expand the scope of Slack implementation from external networks to internal networks and plans to apply enhanced security systems in strict compliance with financial regulations by utilizing features such as native data loss prevention (DLP) and audit log functionalities.

Kang Min-hoon, head of the digital division at NH Investment & Securities, said, "By prioritizing the implementation of Slack in the digital division, we expect to improve work productivity and customer response speed, playing a key role in NH Investment & Securities' digital transformation journey."

Son Boo-han, representative of Salesforce Korea, emphasized that "Slack is an intelligent productivity platform that can simultaneously enhance work efficiency and customer responsiveness in the digital financial environment," adding, "We will continue to spare no effort to support domestic financial institutions in their digital innovation journeys in more flexible and secure environments."
