LG Electronics is accelerating the expansion of its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) business in the Global South regions, including Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa, which have significant growth potential.

LG Electronics announced on the 20th that it held the 'LG HVAC Leaders Summit 2025' after inviting HVAC consultants from seven Asian countries, including India, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, on the 19th.

Running for four days, this summit will be conducted in a seminar format to share the latest trends and industry status in the HVAC market and introduce various technologies from LG Electronics, including system air conditioners, chillers, and data center thermal management solutions.

The invited consultants are key B2B (business-to-business) customers who play an important role in designing the optimal HVAC system by considering the scale and purpose of large buildings such as office facilities and shopping malls, as well as energy efficiency during the product selection and supply decision-making process.

This year, as part of a strategy to target the Global South HVAC market, the invitation scope was expanded beyond India to include the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

The Global South is a region where demand for manufacturing and urban development is rapidly increasing, based on high economic growth rates and abundant human resources. Consequently, the demand for HVAC in factories, offices, and other places is also surging, increasing B2B business opportunities.

During the seminar, representative cases demonstrating capabilities in handling large projects were shared. LG Electronics supplied high-efficiency commercial system air conditioners 'Multi V I' to a massive logistics center in the Tuas area of Singapore. It received the highest grade from the Green Mark certification program established by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, becoming the only manufacturer recognized for meeting the stringent requirements of clients.

Additionally, the AI data center thermal management solution attracted attention. It showcased air cooling solutions using CDU (cooling distribution unit) that attaches cooling plates to high-heat components such as GPUs (graphics processing units) and CPUs (central processing units), sending cooling water to dissipate heat, along with ultra-large-capacity chillers.

Afterward, participants will visit various sites, including the Magok LG Science Park, where LG Electronics' HVAC products are applied, as well as large residential complexes in Busan and a large café in Paju.

LG Electronics plans to continue strengthening its business foundation that leads to orders by promoting customized design and operational capabilities. To this end, it is also expanding the areas where the summit is held. On the 14th, it held a summit in Kenya targeting consultants in Africa, and it plans to invite consultants from the Middle East in June and from Latin America in July to Korea and Panama, respectively, to continue exchanges.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics established the ES Business Division at the end of last year to accelerate growth in the HVAC business. The ES Business Division is leading the digital transformation of the air conditioning industry using AI technology and is conducting research and development tailored to regional characteristics based on air solution research institutes established in North America and Europe. In addition, it has built a 'local complete' business structure that directly handles the entire process from production to sales, installation, and maintenance.

Lee Jae-sung, head of the ES Business Division at LG Electronics, said, 'We will create business opportunities through differentiated technology and execution capabilities while closely interacting with HVAC consultants in major markets worldwide,' adding, 'Based on customized solutions, we will further strengthen our leadership in the global B2B air conditioning market.'
