As a fallout from the hacking of personal subscriber information, the number of subscribers moving from SK Telecom to other carriers has shown a decreasing trend, recently returning to around 10,000.

According to the information and communication technology (ICT) industry on the 20th, the number of subscribers who moved from SK Telecom to KT and LG Uplus the previous day was counted at 11,498.

After the SK Telecom hacking incident became known, the number of subscriber transfers peaked at 38,716 on the 1st of this month before gradually declining. On the 15th, it fell below 10,000 for the first time, recording 7,878, and then decreased to 7,715 on the 16th, but saw a slight rebound to 9,722 on the weekend of the 17th.

Meanwhile, the public-private joint investigation team for the SK Telecom security breach announced that they confirmed an additional 21 types of malware and 18 infected servers through the second investigation results. An investigation to determine the scale of the damage and the cause of this hacking incident is ongoing.
