Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on the 20th that it has launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-based service called "AWS Transform." This service supports 'migration' to a new operating system, assisting client companies with modernization projects.

AWS Transform can automate modernization tasks related to client companies' VMware, mainframe, and .NET workloads. The company noted, "We support the completion of complicated migration tasks up to four times faster than existing methods," adding that it leverages AWS's advanced AI technology infrastructure, including base models, large language models (LLM), machine learning, graph neural networks, and automated inference. It also added that it reduces the complexity and burden of the modernization process for infrastructure, applications, and code.

The AWS Transform agent for .NET supports porting from Windows to Linux, allowing for an expense reduction of up to 40%. It provides features that enhance the efficiency of converting .NET Framework applications.

AWS Transform converts .NET Framework application code to run in a Linux environment and ports private packages. It also automates the execution of unit tests. The company stated, "We support the efficient handling of large-scale modernization projects by simplifying collaboration between teams and parallelly converting hundreds of applications through an integrated web experience that delivers consistent results."

The AWS Transform agent for mainframes simplifies the entire modernization process, reducing risks and complexities while shortening schedules by up to 50%. A chat interface allows users to define high-level modernization goals and discuss work plans. The AWS Transform agent for VMware can optimize infrastructure and reduce operational overhead while avoiding escalating VMware license expenses.
