SK Telecom has announced on the 20th that it has launched a "door-to-door service" for SIM card replacements and rerouting. It also noted that the functionality of the Fraud Detection System has been enhanced.
According to SK Telecom, as of the 19th, approximately 2.52 million customers have replaced their SIM cards. The company is currently proceeding with the replacement process by sequentially securing 5 million SIM cards in May.
In June, the company plans to continue the replacements by securing 5.77 million SIM cards.
SK Telecom explained that it has started a door-to-door service following the expansion of SIM card replacement stock and rerouting.
Additionally, SK Telecom stated that it has applied an enhanced solution to the existing Fraud Detection System since the 18th.
According to company officials, this FDS upgrade employs an advanced multi-authentication method that reviews and matches various unique characteristics of customer SIM cards and device information.
SK Telecom explained that the FDS solution blocks access to the communication network when there is an attempt to connect using a "counterfeit phone."
