Nexon announced on the 19th that it will conduct a global alpha test for its upcoming action RPG 'Vindictus: Defying Fate' starting June 9.
'Vindictus: Defying Fate' is an action RPG reinterpreted based on the intellectual property (IP) of 'Mabinogi Heroes,' optimized for console and PC platforms. It offers immersive action gameplay with sophisticated graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, heavy impacts, and dynamic combat production. The game supports diverse battle experiences tailored to users' preferences by incorporating 3D character customization, various costumes, and interaction elements with companions.
The global alpha test will be held from June 9 to 17, Korean time, via Steam, and anyone can participate without a separate pre-registration process. This test will provide an expanded gameplay experience across content and systems.
In addition to existing characters 'Lishita' and 'Fiona,' 'Delia' and 'Karok' will be newly added, allowing players to choose their preferred combat style from a total of four characters. New systems will also be introduced, including the 'Fellow System' that supports companion playable characters, multiplayer for four-player cooperative combat, and 'Towns' that serve as in-game bases.
The major narrative elements, including story cutscenes and NPC dialogues, have been enhanced, and various growth systems such as the level system and weapon crafting have been added to offer a deeper gameplay experience. The overall graphic quality, including backgrounds of towns and fields, character appearances, and equipment and decorative items, has significantly improved, which is expected to enhance the game's immersion. The official trailer released also allows players to preview key battle content included in the alpha test, showcasing character-specific combat styles, battle actions, and new bosses.
