LG Electronics announced on the 18th that its Tromm WashTower has surpassed 1 million units sold in the domestic market.

In April 2020, the company introduced the first tower-type combination of a washing machine and a dryer in Korea, opening the market for "combined washing and drying machines" and significantly improving the customer laundry experience.

LG Electronics developed the WashTower in response to the reduced laundry and drying space due to the expansion of kitchens and balconies in apartments. The WashTower is approximately 9 cm shorter than stacking equivalent drum washing machines and dryers. Its height from the floor to the center of the dryer door is 148.3 cm, making it convenient for shorter customers to load and unload laundry or manage the filter. With its high space efficiency and sleek, sophisticated design, the WashTower has gained popularity, recording an average annual sales growth rate of over 25% until last year.

The exceptional washing and drying performance of the WashTower has also contributed to its popularity. The WashTower is equipped with the AI DD motor, which combines LG Electronics' differentiated core part technology (core tech) of Direct Drive with artificial intelligence (AI), allowing the AI to analyze the weight, humidity, and fabric types of the laundry and adjust the washing and drying intensity delicately according to the laundry.

During drying, the WashTower uses a low-temperature dehumidifying heat pump method to absorb moisture from the laundry, which is favorable for clothing protection. The TrueSteam technology, which boils water at 100℃ to create fine steam particles, is also excellent for deodorizing, sterilizing, and reducing clothing wrinkles.

Since the initial release of the WashTower, LG Electronics has continuously introduced new models with various capacities and sizes, including a compact model (600 mm wide, 660 mm deep, and 1,655 mm high) designed for households with smaller laundry needs or limited laundry spaces.
