On the 14th, global data cloud corporation Snowflake announced on the 16th that it held the finals and awards ceremony for the 'Snowflake X Streamlit Hackathon Korea.'

The competition, which was held for the first time in the country, saw the participation of over 360 people who showcased platform ideas applicable to real life using actual industrial data provided by DataNogs, Loflat, and SPH. The themes ranged from predicting retail store visits to developing regional marketing strategies.

In the final judging, ideas were evaluated based on completeness, utilization of Snowflake and Streamlit, code quality, and document readability. The first place was awarded to Park Jun-ho, a data engineer at Naver, for implementing a stock analysis dashboard that assists individual investors in developing their investment strategies. The second place went to Choi Min-young from Bitsensing, while the third and fourth places were awarded to Sung Ji-wook from SK C&C and Shim Dong-hyun from HNIX, respectively.

Amanda Kelly, COO and co-founder of Streamlit, was responsible for the technical evaluation, with participation from representatives of Loflat, SPH, DataNogs, and Nexon. Kelly noted, 'Snowflake and Streamlit help non-technical individuals safely create apps that aid in data-driven decision-making.'

Lee Soo-hyun, an evangelist at Snowflake Korea, emphasized that, 'Through the hackathon, we confirmed that the data platform and app development environment can combine to enable anyone to create data-driven apps,' and stated that collaboration and innovation will continue to be supported.
