LG Electronics recently announced the launch of the 'DUOBO' coffee machine, which allows simultaneous extraction of two coffee capsules to blend various flavors.
LG Electronics explained that DUOBO is a coffee machine planned by the marketing platform LG Labs, which introduces new idea products and services for customers who want to enjoy coffee tailored to their taste.
The coffee extraction method can choose from four options: espresso single, espresso double, lungo single, and lungo double. Users can set the extraction volume and temperature for each capsule via a dedicated app, enabling various blends.
The product design is inspired by the 'Apollo 11 lunar module.' The extraction part resembles a spacecraft cockpit, the product support looks like spacecraft legs, and there is a rubber pad shaped like an astronaut's footprint to support it. When pressing the control panel button on the support, the extraction lid opens like a spacecraft, allowing for the insertion of coffee capsules.
In the area where the cup is placed during coffee extraction, a 10.1-inch full HD IPS display is installed. The screen shows animations featuring the DUOBO character 'Qubo' moving in a spacecraft according to situations such as power consolidation, coffee extraction, and standby mode, while also providing content with coffee-related information.
The launch price of DUOBO is 840,000 won, and customers who purchase it will receive a DUOBO coffee cup made in collaboration with the Greek lifestyle brand 'Iaia & Friends.'
Lee Hyang, head of LG Electronics HS CX, noted, 'We aim to target the younger generation with the DUOBO coffee machine, allowing them to enjoy the entire process of selecting, making, and drinking coffee according to their preferences.'
