HANCOM announced on the 13th that it will participate in the '2025 Intelligent Work Management Platform Construction' project led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This follows the success of the consortium, which includes Samsung SDS, in securing the first phase of the 'National Assembly Big Data Platform (also known as AI National Assembly) construction' project earlier this year, marking a continuous achievement in the institutional sector.
The project, led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, focuses on introducing a Software as a Service (SaaS)-based intelligent workspace in the public work environment. This project, spearheaded by Samsung SDS, aims to revolutionize work methods for public officials by integrating the latest technologies such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), web office tools, collaborative communication tools, and AI administrative support services, thereby enhancing overall administrative efficiency. In particular, plans are in place to unify various functions such as email, messenger, and video conferencing, previously operated separately within the One-Nara system, into a single digital workspace that combines AI-based collaboration and document editing capabilities.
Through this project, HANCOM will provide the web-based 'HANCOM Office Web' and AI document creation tool 'HANCOM Assistant' via the SaaS method. By offering a work environment that can be accessed anytime and anywhere along with real-time collaborative editing features, it aims to increase collaborative productivity, while the draft generation and report automation functions of 'HANCOM Assistant' significantly reduce repetitive and labor-intensive workloads. This enables public officials to focus more on core administrative tasks.
Phase 1 of the project will be piloted in two central administrative agencies this year, with plans to expand to all ministries starting in 2026 and gradually to local governments nationwide after 2027. Ultimately, this large-scale digital transformation project will involve approximately 700,000 public officials utilizing HANCOM's cloud-based web office and AI collaboration tools. HANCOM plans to accelerate the future expansion of AI-based digital innovation projects in the public sector, leveraging the capabilities in SaaS, AI, cloud, and collaboration technologies accumulated during this process.
Earlier, HANCOM successfully secured the 'AI National Assembly' project in partnership with Samsung SDS, demonstrating its technical capabilities and execution ability. The AI query and answer solution 'HANCOMpedia' using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and the document auto-creation feature of 'HANCOM Assistant' are expected to be applied in a specialized form to the National Assembly environment, enhancing the digitization of legislative functions and the efficiency of policy support. By participating consecutively in the projects of two major institutions, the National Assembly and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, HANCOM has once again proved the reliability and competitiveness of AI and cloud convergence technologies in the public market.
HANCOM plans to actively venture into digital transformation projects targeting private corporations beyond the public sector as an opportunity arising from this initiative. The recent series of business successes is expected to have a positive impact on the expansion of both domestic and international markets in the future.
Kim Yeon-soo, CEO of HANCOM, noted, "Participation in the establishment of the intelligent management system confirms once again that HANCOM's AI, cloud, and collaboration technologies can provide substantial value for public work innovation." He added, "Having taken on major projects from the National Assembly to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, we will continue to contribute to digital administrative innovation and enhance national technological competitiveness."
