Apple is pushing to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) technology to extend the battery life of the iPhone.
According to a Bloomberg report on the 13th (local time), Apple plans to introduce an AI-based battery management mode in the iOS 19 update. This mode will analyze the user's device usage patterns to optimize energy consumption and adjust for power-hungry applications and features. This technology will be developed as part of the Apple Intelligence platform.
The new technology is expected to be implemented alongside the release of the iPhone 17. Apple is said to optimize battery life in anticipation of the iPhone 17, which is expected to have a smaller battery and shorter lifespan due to a thinner design than previous models. All iPhone devices with the iOS 19 installed are expected to be able to use the AI-based battery management feature.
Apple is integrating AI into its core features, and the Apple Intelligence platform provides functions such as text editing, notification summarization, and removing unwanted elements from images. However, some AI features, including upgrades to Siri, have not yet been activated, leaving the company behind its competitors.
Apple also has updates for iOS 18.5 and iOS 18.6 planned, which will include bug fixes and additional features.
