Victims of the SK Telecom SIM card information hacking have initiated a group dispute resolution application.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 13th, the law firm Lee Gong submitted a group dispute resolution application to the Personal Information Dispute Resolution Committee on behalf of 100 victims of the SK Telecom hacking.

The victims of the SK Telecom hacking are the first case to utilize the group dispute resolution system within the Personal Information Protection Commission as a remedy process for rights.

The group dispute resolution application is a system established to promptly and amicably remedy the damages suffered by individuals whose personal information has been infringed.

At least 50 people can apply based on the same issue, and it is principle that the process concludes within 60 days from the day after the announcement.

The Lee Gong side noted, "We have received the first application from victims who agreed to resolve their rights through group dispute resolution, and we plan to accept additional applications in the future."
