On the 12th, the semiconductor manufacturing equipment corporation Lam Research Korea announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a system for the collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic products, in conjunction with 'E-Circular Governance' to support ESG management practices.

The signing ceremony took place at the Lam Research Korea Y Campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, with key stakeholders in attendance, including CEO Park Jun-hong and Chairman Jeong Deok-ki of E-Circular Governance.

E-Circular Governance is a nonprofit public corporation established with the approval of the Ministry of Environment to lead the establishment of a collection system for waste electrical and electronic products and promote eco-friendly recycling.

Through this agreement, Lam Research Korea plans to establish an eco-friendly collection and recycling system for obsolete waste electronics generated at its offices and business sites, thereby actively promoting resource circulation and practicing ESG management by reducing Scope 3 emissions.

Additionally, Lam Research Korea reported that it carried out a 'waste electronic product collection campaign' on the 30th as part of its Earth Day event at the Lam Research Korea Yongin Campus.

CEO Park Jun-hong of Lam Research Korea noted, 'This agreement is part of Lam Research Korea's commitment to a sustainable and better future,' and added, 'E-Circular Governance is significant in that it aims to support the recycling of more than 90% of electronic waste as valuable resources.'
