Hancom announced on the 12th that it recorded a consolidation revenue of 609 billion won and an operating profit of 8.38 billion won in the first quarter, representing increases of 11.5% and 31.7%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
This performance results from a shift in business structure centered on cloud software as a service (SaaS), achieving both profitability and stability. Products such as WebGianGi and WebHanGul, which are web-based non-installed SaaS offerings, are rapidly spreading primarily in the institutional sector, and the sales proportion of this product group increased to 9.3% in 2023, 27% in 2024, and 29% in the first quarter of 2025. In particular, sales from the non-installed product group grew by 108.4% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2025, establishing itself as a new growth engine for Hancom. Installed software products also maintained steady demand, providing a stable foundation for the transition to the cloud.
Hancom presented a blueprint for becoming an 'artificial intelligence (AI)-focused corporation' through its sixth shareholder SEOHAN ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION letter and revealed its technology and business expansion strategy. According to the company, numerous proof of concept (PoC) projects were carried out centered on the 'HancomPedia' and 'HancomAssistant' launched last year, and this year, actual supply will be made to key institutions such as the National Assembly, further solidifying the foundation for AI adoption in the institutional sector. It noted that a significant sales transition is also expected.
Hancom plans to launch an upgraded version of 'HancomAssistant' and 'Hancom AI Agent' within this year. Through this, it aims to introduce advanced AI services for document creation, summarization, and decision-making support linked with various systems, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), electronic approval, and customer relationship management (CRM). Furthermore, it is diversifying its AI portfolio into various fields such as finance and public safety by expanding AI technology beyond the documentation field and linking it to capabilities in data visualization, personal safety, and video/data collection using drones from its subsidiaries.
Hancom representatives Byun Seong-jun and Kim Yeon-su stated, 'Hancom has laid the groundwork for strategic business expansion through AI-based innovation,' and added, 'We will concentrate all our capabilities on expanding Hancom AI's value chain and growing our business in the global market.'
