2K announced on the 9th that its development studio Hangar 13 will officially release the new game in the Mafia franchise, 'Mafia: The Old Country,' on Aug. 8.

'Mafia: The Old Country' features an original story set in early 1900s Sicily, portraying the journey of the protagonist, 'Enzo Favara,' as he becomes a member of the 'Don Torrisi' family and grows within the Mafia world.

The game offers an immersive narrative focused on story, meticulously detailed to accurately reflect the era, and high-quality action (including hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and riding vehicles and horses), providing a deep gameplay experience. Furthermore, for the first time in the series, it introduced 'Unreal Engine 5' to depict the Sicilian landscape more realistically and vividly, maximizing the sense of reality.

The official gameplay trailer, released along with the release date, showcases the growth of 'Enzo' and the gritty atmosphere of Sicily in the 1900s. Additionally, the developer insight video 'Breaking Omerta' gives a detailed introduction to how Hangar 13 meticulously recreated early 1900s Sicily, along with the emotional and immersive storytelling process.

'Mafia: The Old Country' will be released in two versions: Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes various bonus items, a digital art book, and an original soundtrack. When pre-ordering the Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition, customers will also receive the 'Soldato Pack,' which contains the 'Soldato' outfit, 'Scannaturi Speciale' knife, and 'Tezzoro' horse.

The Mafia series, launched in 2002, is 2K's flagship franchise, having sold over 38 million copies worldwide. This new installment is generating significant anticipation due to its original story that addresses the origins of the series and a cinematic presentation in the gameplay trailer. More information about the game and pre-orders can be found on the official website.
