On the 9th, Naver (NAVER) announced that it will introduce a new feature in its Naver Map navigation that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze users' driving habits and provide personalized estimated arrival times.
The new feature offers personalized estimated arrival times based on the user's driving speed, driving patterns, and other characteristic driving habits.
Previously, the predicted travel time was based on a single time estimate derived from the driving route and its characteristic values. This method predicts time using the average values extracted from all driving data.
The newly added AI-based prediction time system provides different estimated arrival times tailored to each user based on their driving speed, driving patterns, and other driving habits.
This feature can be utilized by anyone who agrees to the collection and use of personal information related to mobility history with a login and driving history, without any separate settings. Through multiple drives, the AI learns the user's driving style, which can yield more precise results.
The user guidance screen provides both personalized arrival time notifications and the generally predicted average arrival time based on data from all users.
