Wemade announced on the 8th that it has donated about 30 million won to the Fire Agency through the blockchain-based social contribution platform "WePublic" in collaboration with the international relief and development organization Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Korea.

The donation was raised through an emergency fundraising campaign for the recovery from the forest fire damage in the Yeongnam area held in April via WePublic. Wemade donated 20 million won, while ADRA Korea contributed 10 million won, and the entire amount will be used to support the medical expenses of firefighters who participated in extinguishing the fire.

The donation ceremony took place on the 7th at the Wemade headquarters in Pangyo, attended by representatives from Wemade, ADRA Korea, the Fire Agency, and the Fire Family Hope Sharing Association.

Kim Ik-hyun, secretary-general of ADRA Korea, said, "The recovery of firefighters' health is directly linked to community recovery and disaster response capability, and I hope many citizens will support their recovery."

Lee Min-jin, head of the Wemade WePublic Center, stated, "We are creating a more transparent and reliable social contribution system through blockchain-based WePublic, and we will continue to expand the public interest model that proves trust through technology."
